On Monday 8th June 2015 two males were stopped by police in a vehicle driving on the A19 just outside of Middlesbrough, Cleveland. When searched the vehicle was found to contain a significant quantity of controlled drugs, namely heroin.
As a result the males were arrested and searches were conducted in the West Yorkshire area where a further large quantity of heroin was recovered. In total over 6 kilos of heroin were seized. Waquas Hashmi, aged 28 and Uzair Hasmi, aged 20 both from Halifax, West Yorkshire were charged with possession with intent to supply and supplying heroin. The investigation was dealt with by the North East Regional Special Operations Unit (NERSOU). The males will next appear at Teesside Crown Court on Friday 11th September 2015.
