Operation Patton
10 people have recently been found guilty of conspiracy to supply Heroin and Amphetamine with a street value of over £55 million.
This organised crime group were responsible for the importation of drugs into the UK from Europe.
The drugs were initially stored in facilities located in Northampton and Nottingham after which they were transported into the North East via storage units in North Yorkshire.
As part of this operation officers from NERSOU recovered 30 kilos of Heroin and 408 kilos of Amphetamine with a combined street value of £55 million.
The 10 members of the crime group were recently sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court and received sentences of imprisonment totalling in excess of 84 years.
