Cash has been seized following cross-over enquiries by both NERSOU and Cheshire Police into drug trafficking that was believed to be taking place between Organised Crime Groups in each of their areas.

Following cross-over enquiries by both the North East Regional Sepcial Operations Unit (NERSOU) and Cheshire Police into drug trafficking that was believed to be taking place between Organised Crime Groups in each of their areas £104,950 cash was seized from the back seat of a car and initially detained under Proceeds Of Crime Act (POCA).

At this time the  criminal investigation is unable to progress but enquiries by the North East Regional Asset Recovery Team (NE RART) into the male from whom this cash was seized have concluded and as a consequence the cash was subject to a forfeiture order at Teesside Magistrates Court on 19th June 2018.

The cash was found within two shopping bags sat openly on the rear passenger seat of a motor vehicle, as shown below, -
